The Golden Mile of the Mediterranean writes a new chapter today in the history of ultra-prime tourism. Ilanga Capital has announced the official start of construction of Oakmond Marbella, a revolutionary advanced longevity and preventive medicine resort that promises to redesign global standards of wellness and five-star hospitality.

Located on the emblematic grounds of the historic Incosol Hotel —in the sought-after Río Real area and adjacent to the future Four Seasons development—, the project not only recovers the memory of a legendary site but also places Marbella at the forefront of one of the most powerful investment trends in the lifestyle market: the intersection of health, longevity, and experiential real estate.

A financial muscle to redefine experiential luxury

The project begins its construction phase backed by a solid asset and capital structure exceeding 400 million euros, combining the direct investment from Ilanga Capital and the value of singular assets (trophy assets). The direct investment in Oakmond amounts to 260 million euros, of which 145 million come from a senior loan granted by Goldman Sachs Alternatives; a formidable financial guarantee that underscores the appetite of major institutional funds for purpose-driven real estate assets.

The execution of this temple of preventive medicine has been entrusted to the construction company San José, which will build the complex under the most demanding sustainability standards, applying BIM methodology and aiming for the prestigious LEED Gold Certification.

“The start of construction at Oakmond materializes the vision we embarked on three years ago when acquiring Incosol: to create a new category of real estate and hospitality assets worldwide”, highlights Pelayo Cortina Koplowitz, Partner and Founder of Ilanga Capital and CEO of Oakmond. “The strategic backing of Goldman Sachs Alternatives confirms the economic viability and solidity of a project that places Marbella at the international forefront of preventive medicine and investment in experiential assets”.

A wellness sanctuary on 53,000 m²

The Oakmond proposal goes beyond the traditional concept of a wellness clinic. It is the first vertically integrated health ecosystem, where the guest not only comes to rest but to optimize their long-term vitality through early diagnostics, state-of-the-art biometrics, and clinical intelligence supported by data analytics.

Designed on a plot of 53,000 square meters, the resort will house:

  • A Luxury Hotel: 140 rooms and suites located in the iconic tower of the former Incosol, completely remodeled.

  • Private Residences: An exclusive set of 28 villas and newly built residences for those who seek to make longevity a permanent lifestyle.

  • Cutting-edge Longevity Clinic: A center equipped with medical diagnostic technology, personalized preventive medicine, and continuous monitoring.

  • Gastronomy and Vitality: Fine dining proposals focused on precision nutrition, complemented with sports facilities and top-tier clinics.

An economic and reputational engine for the Costa del Sol

The official groundbreaking event was attended by Marbella’s mayor, Ángeles Muñoz Uriol, who celebrated the arrival of a strategic investment that raises the city’s profile on the international map.

“This project is a crucial step for our city: we are recovering such an emblematic space as Incosol and receiving an investment of 260 million euros that affirms international capital’s confidence in Marbella”, stated the mayor. “Oakmond diversifies our tourism offer towards excellence and health, boosting the local economy and consolidating a model based on innovation and responsible luxury”.

With an expected execution period of 36 months, construction will extend until 2029, the year set for its highly anticipated opening. Until then, Marbella is finalizing the details of what promises to be the new European epicenter of conscious travel, where true luxury is not just free time, but living longer and better.
