Marbella, international summit of luxury tourism with DUCO 2026
Marbella consolidates itself once again as the epicenter of luxury tourism in the Iberian Peninsula. For the second consecutive year, the city hosted the DUCO Spain & Portugal 2026 summit, reinforcing a multi-year agreement of three editions that positions the town of Málaga as a mandatory reference point for the exclusive travel industry.
The event is conceived and organized by DUCO Travel Summit, a specialized firm founded by Carolina Perez that stands out for its destination-oriented concept (events focused on a single destination).
The main objective of DUCO is to directly connect local hospitality providers and exclusive experiences — such as boutique hotels, private villas, or tailored services — with the most influential travel agents and advisors from the primary international source markets, especially from the Anglo-Saxon and U.S. realms. Through an exclusive format of individual meetings and immersive encounters, the summit aims to generate high-value business alliances and promote top-tier tourism offerings throughout the year.
This year's edition brought together 227 brands, 235 exhibitors, and more than 170 international agents. During the inauguration, the sector's general director, Laura de Arce, valued the event as "an exceptional opportunity to continue consolidating our positioning among the world’s most recognized destinations in this field and to showcase the excellence of our offering to a specialized international audience."
Likewise, the working sessions have served to showcase the quality of the hotel stock, gastronomy, sports facilities, nature, and Mediterranean lifestyle of Marbella, the Costa del Sol, and Andalusia. De Arce emphasized the importance of the municipal tourism model based on excellence, sustainability, and season extension, with the aim of attracting high-income travelers throughout the year.
