Ángel Schlesser has received the Gold Pin 2026 in Málaga during the XV Pasarela Larios. Mayor Francisco de la Torre awarded the prize to Óscar Areces, owner of the brand, in front of a fully packed Marqués de Larios street during two nights of fashion, emerging talent, and international proposals. The scene sums up why this event has already become part of the city’s cultural calendar.

Who gave the recognition and why?

The mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, presented the Gold Pin 2026 to Óscar Areces, owner of Ángel Schlesser. The distinction recognizes the brand’s trajectory and its contribution to the world of fashion, at one of the key moments of the XV Pasarela Larios Málaga Fashion Week.

The recognition came at the close of the first day, after a succession of national and international proposals. It was not an isolated award within the program: the honored brand put the finishing touch on a night that turned Marqués de Larios street into an open, visible runway shared with the people of Málaga.

The choice also fits the character of an event that combines established names and creators beginning their careers. In the same edition coexisted a well-established brand, recognitions for runway professionals, and a contest dedicated to new proposals. Designer fashion, yes; but with feet on the street.

A fully packed Marqués de Larios street during two days

On September 25 and 26, Marqués de Larios street rolled out its blue carpet and again served as the main stage of Pasarela Larios. The organizers reported a full house and a massive turnout from the people of Málaga during both days.

This fact has a clear local interpretation: the runway did not stay inside a closed venue nor was it reserved for professionals. Fashion occupied one of the most recognizable spaces in the historic center and brought collections close to neighbors, visitors, and audiences who watched the shows from the street itself.

The XV edition gathered haute couture, bridal proposals, designer fashion, and experimental designs. It also put Spanish brands, international creators, established names, and emerging designers together on the same program. That mix explains much of the public’s response: there were different entry points to the runway, not a single way of understanding fashion.

Two nights of shows, recognitions, and surprising designs

What happened during Friday’s day?

The first day, held on Friday the 25th, featured thirteen shows. Mona Al Mansouri, from the United Arab Emirates, opened the night, followed by Juan Carlos Armas, Btissam Dahane, By Vel, Susana Hidalgo, Jesús Segado, Nati Rudnitskaya, La Gioconda, As-Feniks, Atelier de Bodas by Jaime Jarque, Lecci Dhofar, Lucía Cano, and Ángel Schlesser.

The list shows the breadth of the programming and the crossing of origins that characterize Pasarela Larios. The proposals progressed along the blue carpet until reaching the show of Ángel Schlesser, the brand that received the Gold Pin in the final part of the night.

Friday also left two other recognitions. La Gioconda was honored for its twenty years of trajectory with a commemorative plaque delivered by María José González, director of Pasarela Larios. Additionally, the brand received a gift from Clínicas METS, given by Esther García Aguilera, the entity’s general director.

The day also included the Kapyderm Award 2026, granted to Fatima Mesbahy for her professionalism as a runway model. Three names and three ways of valuing work in fashion: a business trajectory, a brand with two decades of history, and a professional of the runway.

What did Saturday night bring?

Saturday the 26th began with the opening of IT Spain. Then walked María Díezma, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Nati Rudnitskaya, By Vel, José Perea, Liza De Fazio, Hard Rock Cafe by Julio Ferrucho, Khouloud Radi Caftan, Mado Vigarok from Tenerife, El Carlo Marbella, and Moncho Heredia.

The programming also included collections from Castilla y León and Gibraltar, expanding the territorial representation of the day. One of the most striking moments came with José Perea, who presented a single design made with 300 meters of fabric. A figure hard to ignore, even for those who had only come to see what was happening in Larios.

Saturday reserved space for the Talent and Creativity Contest 2026 and for Xenia Albacete, winner of the 2025 edition, who returned with her collection. Félix Ramiro closed the XV edition with a back-and-forth runway show along the street, a finale designed to take up the entire stage and return the attention to the audience.

The participation of Tenerife, Castilla y León, and Gibraltar reinforced Pasarela Larios’s role as a meeting point between territories. Support for Canarian talent came from the Tenerife Council, with the prominent presence of Juan Carlos Armas. Castilla y León participated through Uniendo Moda, a project by CEOE Castilla y León and the Junta de Castilla y León.

  • Ángel Iglesias Moda.
  • Santiago García - Didesant.
  • Lucía Jurado.

Gibraltar was represented by a collective proposal promoted by Dorcas Fashion Academy, under the direction of Dorcas Hammond, in collaboration with Gibraltar Fashion Collective. Walking the runway were Mimi Couture - Mireille Dalli, Shirley Samtani, Grace Manfred, Only Wear Love - Charlene Figueras, and House of Galani - Resham Galea-Khiani. Christian Santos, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Gibraltar, accompanied the Gibraltarian creators.

Emerging talent completes the portrait of Pasarela Larios

Laura Ortiz wins the Talent and Creativity Contest 2026

For the audience of Málaga, the runway matters as much for the known brands as for the names seeking their first opportunity. Laura Ortiz was proclaimed winner of the Talent and Creativity Contest 2026, an initiative sponsored by Málaga de Moda, Talento Original, promotional brand of the Málaga Provincial Council.

The participants presented their proposals before the public and industry professionals. The jury was formed by Esther García Aguilera, general director of Clínicas METS; designers Javier Alcántara and Ángel Palazuelos; and designer Lucía Cano. After evaluating the proposals, they chose Laura Ortiz as the winner.

Ortiz also received a gift from Clínicas METS, handed by Esther García Aguilera. The presence of Xenia Albacete, winner in 2025, added visible continuity to the contest: the previous edition’s winner returned to Larios with a new collection, while another creator took up the torch.

This detail changes the reading of the runway. It is not just about showing clothes during two nights, but about giving visibility to those building their careers. Marqués de Larios street thus functions as a showcase for a recognized brand and as the first major window for designers still seeking their place.

Fifteen editions with Málaga and a network of support

Organized by NuevaModa Producciones, Pasarela Larios was born in 2011 and has maintained its link with Málaga, its designers, and new creators. The XV edition closed with the image of a street full and devoted to fashion, a response that strengthens the role of the event as an open cultural happening.

Since its inauguration, the runway gathers in the historic center more than a hundred media, designers, stylists, and Andalusian, national, and international models. For two days, Marqués de Larios transforms into a showcase of trends over its characteristic blue carpet.

The organization also positions the event as an engine of tourist and economic projection for Málaga, through the effect of the shows on hospitality, commerce, transport, and other sectors linked to city activity. The local interpretation is simple: when the center fills up to watch fashion, the impact does not end on the runway.

Fundación Unicaja participated once again as the main sponsor, supporting culture, creativity, the creative industries, and local and emerging talent. The edition also incorporated Clínicas METS as a sponsor, an entity that collaborated in recognitions and offered a raffle of ten facial treatments.

The edition also received support from the Junta de Andalucía, the Málaga City Council, the Málaga Provincial Council through Málaga de Moda, Talento Original, Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol, and the Málaga Historic Center Association. Among collaborators are ACME, La Razón, Antonio Eloy Professional School, Kapyderm Laboratories, Onda Cero, Hard Rock Cafe Málaga, Hotel Only YOU Málaga, Kaleido Málaga Port, Touch Comunicación, Grupo Marangós, Coeo House, Linda Magazine, the Málaga Brotherhoods Group, and the Málaga hospitality association, as well as Maldita Dolores, El Nacional, and La Cueva de 1900.

The hairdressing and makeup for the models were in charge of Antonio Eloy Professional School, led by Eloy Moreno. With Ángel Schlesser as the protagonist of the main recognition, Laura Ortiz as the emerging winner, and a program that brought Málaga together with Tenerife, Castilla y León, and Gibraltar, the XV Pasarela Larios left a clear image: fashion can be spectacle, industry, and opportunity when it occupies the city without asking for permission.
