The councilor assigned to the delegations of Youth and Sports, Adrián Trujillo, the organizers of the event, Juan Antonio Cansino, and José Luís Sánchez, presented today the Andalusian Karting Championship ‘Los Kartianos 2019’. The mayor explained that Estepona will host one of the great prizes of this competition, which will consist of two races that will be held on Sundays May 5 and October 6 at the Kart & Fun circuit in the town.
The mayor has declared that for Estepona it is a “luxury” to be one of the venues of this automotive show, in which the first race, which will take place on May 5, involves the participation of about 40 pilots, which will attract hundreds of motor world fans to our municipality. Undoubtedly, explained the municipal manager, these people who visit us, in addition to enjoying the best sport, will have the opportunity to experience everything that our city offers.
In addition, Trujillo has referred to the quality of Estepona’s sports facilities, in particular, he has highlighted the level of the Kart & Fun circuit, one of the most modern on the Costa del Sol. This sports facility, which opened its doors in the town three years ago, in addition to various level sports competitions, has been a new attraction to the outdoor leisure offer of the city.
José Antonio Cansino has reported that this championship is amateur and is open to anyone, both for those who have experience in this sport and for those who wish to start, with the clear objective of promoting the sport of karting. The age that has been established has been over 15 years, although minors can compete provided that they submit an authorization signed by their parents.
Regarding the registration, Cansino explained that it can be done through the Facebook page of the Championship, and that it has a price of 55 euros, which includes all the necessary material.
For his part, José Luís Sánchez, the manager of Kart & Fun Estepona, has declared that it is a real pride to be part of this Karting Championship. He added that the participating riders will find in the Estepona circuit the ideal setting to experience in person the passion for the engine and speed.
The Andalusian Karting Championship ‘Los Kartianos 2019’ will be structured in 12 Grands Prix, each consisting of 2 scoring races that will be played in various circuits in Seville, Malaga, Cádiz and Granada.
